What is narrative therapy (narrative practices)?

Image 1: What is Narrative practices?

Image 2: Narrative practices are ways of engaging in curious intentional inquires with a belief that we are made up of stories and stories is how we make sense of experiences. And these stories exist in power politics.

Image 3: Narrative practices believes that all the problems are rooted in systems of oppression and not in our bodies or our identities, that people are not the problem but the problem is the problem.

Image 4: Narrative practices believes that we are never ever passive in response to a problem but we are always actively responding through know-hows generated in the lived experiences which is very often subjugated, invisiblised and delegitimised.

Diagnosis disclaimer*

* A diagnosis does not define who a person is. It is simply a description of a cluster of behaviours and symptoms, but does not explain how they came to be.  It is a shorthand method of communication among clinicians and should never be used as an indication of an individual’s worth.
